AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE HEALTH CARE IN Lincolnton

At Collier Family Medical, our goal is to make health care affordable and accessible in Lincolnton and beyond. We have a membership model for health care and our patients pay about $60 each month to $75 each month. Children pay $20 each month to $30 per month with an enrolled adult. When you’re a member of Collier Family Medical, you can call, text, or email your doctor any time. You can come in for a visit anytime without a co-pay. Visits to Collier Family Medical are included as a part of the membership. We also save people money on their medications and lab work. We buy medications at wholesale prices then we sell these medications to our patients with little to no markup. This makes the medications that we dispense out of our practice much less expensive – sometimes 50% to 90% less expensive – than medications at the retail pharmacy.

Please call, text, or email today for questions. Or go online and enroll and we will call you!

Struggling with weight loss?

Obesity is a common concern for people. When you go to your provider, and they review your labs then tell you ‘Everything looks good, just remember, diet and exercise’. What does that mean? What if you are doing those things? How can you improve your diet, and how much should you be exercising?

Obesity is much more than your favorite shirt or pants not fitting. Obesity has risks.

Obesity Education:
• increased risk of health complications
• importance of exercise routine, diet, limit calories consumed
• Exercise 30 min/day x 5 weekly
• Diet: fruits, vegetables, grains, high fiber, low-fat, fish, lean meats, skinless chicken. limit or avoid fast food

Here at Collier Family Medical, obesity is considered a disease; a chronic disease that needs to be managed. With management, we together reduce your risk for diabetes, heart attack, stroke, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and more. CFM offers holistic, full picture care to help you lose weight and feel your best.

A membership starts at $65 includes FREE routine lab work, some medications for FREE, all at a lower cost, unlimited office visits, no copays, after-hours care, and a personal relationship with YOUR provider. Not only can I help you lose weight, but I can also manage other ongoing issues, be here for you when you are sick, and provide that “old time,” provider-patient relationship.

Put your employees first with Collier Family Medical

It’s no secret that employers can save enormous amounts of money by shifting their employee healthcare away from the fee-for-service model and towards direct primary care.

Since traditional providers get paid for every patient they see, it’s in their financial interest to manage chronic conditions rather than curing them. Not to mention that when they do see patients, the appointments are rushed, with symptom management being the primary concern rather than diagnosing the root cause of a condition.

In fact, primary care doctors actually avoid addressing root causes and often refer patients to specialists to protect them from liability claims.

These specialists, it goes without saying, are prohibitively expensive, all of which funnels back into a company’s bottom line, driving up healthcare costs and driving down profits.

But what if there was a system that allows an employer to get the best of both worlds for their employees? Preventative, direct primary care with a provider, and affordable access to specialists when they require an outside consultation?

Sugar has a bittersweet reputation when it comes to health. Sugar occurs naturally in all foods that contain carbohydrates, such as fruits and vegetables, grains, and dairy. Consuming whole foods that contain natural sugar is okay. Plant foods also have high amounts of fiber, essential minerals, and antioxidants, and dairy foods contain protein and calcium.

Since your body digests these foods slowly, the sugar in them offers a steady supply of energy to your cells. A high intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains also has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.

Why is sugar bad for you?

  • Chronic inflammation.
  • Oxidative stress.
  • Moodiness and tiredness.
  • Bad bacteria grow in the gut.
  • Parasites to grow.
  • Weight gain.
  • Cold & flu viruses to thrive.
  • Sleeping challenges.
  • Difficulty to concentrate.
  • Problem to exercise.
  • Worsens depression.
  • Higher risk of type 2 diabetes.
  • Increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
